Yeah, sort of like that, but with more lasers and smacktalk. And opening the can is like opening Christmas presents, but with less irritating wrapping paper, and no relatives ****ing you off. Also, you have no requirement to pretend you like the contents if it does not satisfy you.

Perhaps CCP should reduce damage across the system and make it more interesting for the victim rather than a foregone conclusion that the pirate always wins....

It's all a matter of how paranoid you are.
I'll give you a hint, for those among you with a veldspar complex: your ship has a scanner. It is not just an offensive tool.

Actually, we can. We fully understand that not everyone wants to PvP. What we don't understand is what catastrophic misunderstanding on their part leads them to believe that they should be safe, despite their refusal to take the necessary precautions, in unsafe space, having clicked past the "OMG EBIL PIE-RATS CAN KILL YOU!" warning sign.

You mean that I fitted my ship for a purpose, combat, and sucked at mining. You fitted for mining, and sucked at combat.
Well, if you suck at combat, what can you do? Well, I guess you could either avoid combat, or have people in combat ships guard you.
But no, you can't do that, because... umm....

The OP has made many complaints about how what he has doing fails to defend him against pirates. What he fails to explain is why he refuses to change his strategy so he doesn't get owned so hard
If you are just going to ignore anything which becomes a problem for you or your viewpoint, why do you post in a forum labelled General Discussion
You seem unwilling to discuss any opposing view, you just want the game changed to suit your needs.

OK, I will explain what I wish that you do. Provide a structured and justified answer to each of these questions, taken in order from your original post:
1a) Why do you assume people are jerks (an insult to the real life character of the player), simply because they do not play the game like you, though they are playing exactly the same game, within the same guidlines as you?
1b) Do you think insulting them makes your arguments more convicing?
2) Why should you be able to mine in unsafe space in safety, without making sacrifices or commitments to aid your safety?
3a) How has "as long as you stayed alert" changed? Were you scanning constantly to see people approching you? Were you aligned? Were you fitting (urgh) WCS or ECM? Were you watching local for pirates?
3b) Have you even tried to defend yourself, or did you just come here to complain that Eve is broken?
4) What exactly is "without any comback" supposed to mean? You recieve sec hits for opening fire, and the victim of a one-sided attack gains killrights on the aggressor. He is flagged for 15minutes, during which he will be fired upon at stations or gates (giving a huge advantage to anyone hunting him), and can be attacked without penalty. If he takes enough sec hits, he loses access to much of space. The aggressor is also just as able to be attacked as you in low sec.
5) Do you realise that "it is killing the game" is fully subjective, and what is your opinion is not holy writ, nor is it apparently near the majority view?
6) Is piracy any less valid as a way of making ISK than mining or PvE?
7a) Why do you join a game where this is allowed, and even advertised as such (the original game box said "pirate" as one of the listed professions, though admittedly, it also says bounty hunter, so that could be called into question), and then demand that it is changed to suit your needs, and another game is made for "the boys who just want to shot everything and let them play with themselves"? That game exists, it is called Eve Online, and you joined it. There are plenty of games which are totally carebear (not intended as abuse) focussed out there, yet you joined Eve Online, possibly the harshest game out there.
7b) What gives you the right to demand that the game you chose, despite it being a piratey game, be made your carebear heaven, even though there are many games out there which already fit your mould, and you have disdained them?
